Multi factory collaborative printing of books [Buke printing]
There are two situations for multi factory collaborative printing of books. One reason is that the book has a large print run, which makes it difficult for one printing factory to complete within a fixed period, and is printed by several factories separately. Another scenario is that the process requires complexity and is printed using multiple printing techniques, making it difficult to complete in a single printing factory. There are also two methods for collaborative printing among multiple factories. One method is for the publishing house to organize the division of labor and cooperation among the factories, and the other method is to hand over all to one printing factory, which will then organize the collaboration among multiple factories. At present, printing factories often entrust the typesetting and binding work to manufacturers specializing in typesetting and binding, and the progress and quality requirements are approved by the printing factory.
When a printing factory is responsible for organizing collaborative printing, the publishing house only needs to establish contact with the factory and clearly explain the printing process requirements to the factory. When the publishing house is responsible for organizing multiple factories to collaborate on printing, the following points should be noted
① Not only should the processing technology undertaken by the factory be explained, but also the processing technology requirements of the entire book should be introduced, so that the dimensions and process requirements of each part have a sense of unity when binding.
② Attention should be paid to the processing progress of each factory to prevent delays in some processing tasks from affecting the progress of the entire book. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly monitor the progress of each factory.
③ If necessary, go to the factory to understand the quality situation.
④ If the changes involve the entire book, all relevant collaborating factories should be notified together.
