花紋對接是一種底紋印刷的新工藝，有兩種形式：花紋滿版印刷和切邊標記

（1）花紋滿版印刷。貨幣或票據按規定尺寸裁切後，底紋上原有的花紋在貨幣或票據的邊緣已不完整，但如把其兩個裁切邊對接，又可組成一個完整的花紋圖案。如我國1990年版百元人民幣正面左右兩邊的底紋圖案、香港匯豐銀行發行的一千元券即用了此種技術。

（2）切邊標記。在票面的四邊印有切邊標記，將這些標記正面對折，線紋完全吻合，如荷蘭盾鈔票等。

花紋對接技術要求很高，既要求印前製版設計的精確性，又要求印刷工藝的高精度和印後裁切的高精度，其中的任何一個環節出現問題，都不能達到該技術的要求，因此該技術不但要求有高精度的加工設備，同時對各環節的操作技術也有很高的要求，從而使造假者望而卻步。
