根據歷史文獻記載和考古資料證實,中國在西漢時期已發明瞭造紙術,並且經製造出植物纖維紙。東漢元興年(105年),蔡倫發明瞭紙張,但是在蔡倫發明紙張之前,中國人就已經試用了各種纖維造紙。

印刷紙張的形態

根據歷史文獻記載和考古資料證實,中國在西漢時期已發明瞭造紙術,並且經製造出植物纖維紙。東漢元興年(105年),蔡倫發明瞭紙張,但是在蔡倫發明紙張之前,中國人就已經試用了各種纖維造紙。

如果“紙”的定義指以任何纖維通過排水作用所粘成的一種薄頁,那麽紙在西漢或更早的時候便已經出現了紙是印刷的載體,也是知識和信息的載體,有了紙才促使了印刷術的發明,有了紙才有各種與紙有關的印刷品的產生。

所以,紙是用以保存人類思維和文化以及知識傳播和交流的媒介。
從漢代以來,紙張逐漸成為書寫的主要材料,至隋唐時期,紙張不但是書籍的物質載體,還被廣泛運用於各個領域。
