書籍印刷選擇開本的原則

經典著作、理論類書籍、學術類書籍,一般多選用32開或大32開,此開本莊重、大方,適於案頭翻閱;

科技類圖書及大專教材因容量較大,文字、圖表多適合選用16開本;中、小學生教材及通俗讀物以32開本為宜,便於攜帶、存放


兒童讀物多採用小開本,如24開、64開,小巧玲瓏,但目前也有不少兒童讀物特別是繪畫本讀物選用16開,甚至是大16開,圖文並茂,倒也不失為一種適用的開本;

大型畫集、攝影畫冊,有6開、8開、12開、大16開等,

小型畫冊宜用24開、40開等等;

期刊一般採用16開本和大16開本,大16開本是國際上通用的開本。
