紙和紙板是一種古老的包裝材料,即使在現代,在工業產品包裝中,紙類包裝仍然占有非常重要的地位,特別在商品包裝中,其使用量要占所有包裝材料的40%以上,在工業產品包裝中也占有很大比例。

印刷包裝材料中的紙和紙板

造紙術是我國古代四大發明之一。紙的發明是對世界文明發展最偉大的貢獻之一。

早在公元105年(東漢和帝元興年),蔡倫總結前人的改造發明瞭造紙術,他利用破布、麻頭、漁網、樹皮等制出了質地良好的紙,稱為“蔡侯紙”。

英國的造紙工業於17世紀才建立起來,美國的第十家造紙廠是於1690年建造的。在英國和美國,早期也是採用碎布作為生產紙的原料。將碎布磨成紙漿並經稀釋,將篩網浸入紙漿之中,並加震動,使紙漿吸附在篩網上,然後壓去水分,經乾燥而制得紙張。

隨著人類文化和生活水平的提高,紙的需求量越來越大,以致碎布原料供不上生產的需求,不得不開闢纖維素原料的新來源—木漿。

紙和紙板是一種古老的包裝材料,即使在現代,在工業產品包裝中,紙類包裝仍然占有非常重要的地位,特別在商品包裝中,其使用量要占所有包裝材料的40%以上,在工業產品包裝中也占有很大比例。

日本的紙及紙制品約占所有包裝材料的49%,美國約占42%以上,我國用於包裝的紙和紙板約占所有紙和紙板總產量的近40%左右。
