平面設計師必備的能力(一)設計理論知識

設計理論知識及運用是以理論作為設計實踐的指導,從而防止偏離設計的正確方向。設計師應掌握的藝術與設計理論知識主要有藝術史論、設計史論和設計方法論等。在美國這樣一個商業設計發達的國家中,在設計教育中非常重視理論,可見理論對設計教育的重要性。


設計理論屬於通史通論,如中外藝術史、中外設計史、藝術概論、設計概論、工業設計史、設計方法學等;屬專業史論的如工藝史、建築史、服裝史、廣告史、建築學、廣告學、服裝學等。其中建築作為“大藝術”“大設計”,對其他各種專業設計都有直接或間接的影響,例如哥特式、洛可可式的傢具設計都受相同風格的建築設計影響。

設計概論則提供設計的概念、要素、作用及其他相關知識,指明設計發展的正確方向。設計理論讓設計師瞭解中外設計發展的歷史狀況,從中找出規律性,認識和瞭解當代的設計潮流,理解設計與社會、歷史、政治、經濟的辯證關系。
