用活字排成的凸版稱為活字版，利用活字版進行印刷稱為活字版印刷。由於活字版排版靈活，使用方便，其用途極為廣泛。

   步殼印刷活字版

用活字排成的凸版稱為活字版，利用活字版進行印刷稱為活字版印刷。深圳印刷信封由於活字版排版靈活，使用方便，其用途極為廣泛。

所以，除了適用於各種書刊、裝潢、文字和花邊圖案排版外，也適合包裝裝潢印刷。但是鉛合金活字版的製作使用過程中工人勞動強度大。

而且產生鉛污染，20世紀80年代以後逐漸被取代。

照相凸版也稱為金屬凸版，深圳印刷信封是利用照相原理把原稿圖文信息反映到塗有感光膠膜的金屬板上，深圳印刷信封再通過化學處理製成的凸版。

所用版材主要有銅板和鋅板，對於一般質量要求的印品，大多採用1-2mm厚的鋅板。

照相銅、鋅版可以製成各種復雜的圖案、文字的印版，深圳印刷信封可滿足對圖文結構和規格變化較大，技術要求較高的包裝裝潢產品的特殊要求，在包裝裝演印刷中占有一定比重。

另外，照相凸版製版周期較短，設備投資較低，這對多品種、小批量的包裝裝潢印刷更為有利。
