產品質量要靠生產,而不是靠檢驗。有了先進的印刷設備,優質的原材料,素質良好的操作人員,還要有適宜的工藝設計和嚴格的過程式控制制。印刷品是一種多工序協作的產品,工序多、工藝復雜、原材料千變萬化,一本書有封面、內文和插頁等。要用到銅版紙、書版紙,而且一般都有好幾帖,封面可能還要燙印、上光或者覆膜。

設備各不相同,要經過多人、多機台協作,任何一帖的工藝、質量都很關鍵,前工序做得再好,如果不能滿足後工序的工藝要求,也不可能順利完成生產。而任一環節出現差錯,都會影響到最終的成品質量。這就要求我們在生產之前,對整個印刷工藝有個統籌策劃,保證整個印刷生產過程處於受控狀態,使生產順利進行,保證產品質量。


現實中,各車間、各工序之間,往往沒有統一的工藝管理,缺乏溝通,印前與印刷、印刷與印後加工的工藝常常脫節。即使有好的設計,印出來的效果卻不甚理想;印得不錯,卻難於進行印後加工。所以,提高印刷質量,需從工藝設計開始。
