快速把石膏糊塗在粘有黃紙板的平板上。稍加攤平，鋪上一層薄紙，為防止石膏粉落入版紋之中，再蓋上一層塑料薄膜。

凹版製成後，還須配置一塊與凹版圖文相反的石膏壓印凸版。將制好的銅或鋼凹版粘置在平壓機的金屬底板上。

校平版子，並在壓印平板上用黃紙板糊好，然後用樹膠液或精米粉漿調和石膏糊，快速把石膏糊塗在粘有黃紙板的平板上。

稍加攤平，鋪上一層薄紙，為防止石膏粉落入版紋之中，再蓋上一層塑料薄膜。

壓印前在凹版上輕輕地刷一層煤油，防止壓印時粘壞石膏模子第一次壓印力要小，約顯出影子即可。

第二次壓印時，在凹版後面加墊一張較厚的白板紙，待石膏粉快乾時壓印上去，石膏粉固化乾燥後。

鏟除四周多餘的石膏，即製成了石膏壓印凸版。傳統石舞壓印凸版製作工藝復雜費時，

現已研製成功採用高分子熱塑性材料代替石膏上為機外預制的新型壓印凸版製作工藝。

壓凸紋一般在平壓式凸版印刷機或特製的壓凸機上進行。這種機器的特點是壓力大、結構堅固。

能壓製版面較大的凹凸產品壓印操作方法與一般三色版印刷相同，將待壓凸紋的印刷品放在凹與凸兩塊印版之間。
