紙張的錶面強度,指的是纖維、填料和膠料三者間的結合強度,反映了紙張抗掉粉掉毛的能力,由造紙原料及工藝所決定,還和填料膠料的選用以及壓光程度等因素有關。如闊葉樹紙漿中,含有和纖維結合力弱的導管,在印刷中常會脫落。至於選用無機填料的紙張,因填料本身沒有結合力,就很容易產生掉粉的現象。

紙張的錶面強度,指的是纖維、填料和膠料三者間的結合強度,反映了紙張抗掉粉掉毛的能力,由造紙原料及工藝所決定,還和填料膠料的選用以及壓光程度等因素有關。如闊葉樹紙漿中,含有和纖維結合力弱的導管,在印刷中常會脫落。至於選用無機填料的紙張,因填料本身沒有結合力,就很容易產生掉粉的現象。

印刷廠在印刷時常常會出現印刷幾百張後橡皮布就粘上大量紙毛的現象,即使採用減黏劑,也無法消除。

用手指搓一下紙張,手指頭會沾上一層紙毛,說明填料沒有和紙張很好地結合。銅版紙較少出現掉粉掉毛現象,如果塗料層和紙基結合不好的話,則有可能因油墨黏度過高而出現大面積剝離的現象。

紙張的掉粉掉毛還和油墨黏度、印刷壓力和印刷速度有關。通常採用降低黏度、減輕壓力的方法,能有效減少紙張的掉粉掉毛現象。
