印刷油墨揮發造成的大氣污染問題。傳統油墨揮發物為甲苯、二甲苯、醋酸乙酯等,全球每年用於包裝的油墨消耗在10萬t以上,按20%的揮發物計算,每年排放到大氣中的揮發物達2萬1以上,嚴重破壞了大氣環境。

由於凹印墨中使用了較多的揮發性有機化合物(VOC)作為溶劑,因此,油墨中溶劑揮發造成的大氣污染等問題,以凹印墨最為嚴重。

VOC會與空氣中的氮氧化物發生光化學反應,產生臭氧及煙霧,從而造成大氣污染。由於油墨中的溶劑會不斷揮發,尤其在油墨成膜時幾乎全部揮發掉,既浪費資源,又污染環境,同時直接危害操作人員的身心健康。

很多國家都對油墨中摻加的劑用量作了限制性規定,如美國規定油墨中有機溶劑不得超過2%。

所以應積極開發和推廣應用無溶劑或少溶劑的印刷油墨

還有,在包裝印刷廢品回收處理脫墨時也會給環境造成影響。要使油墨無毒並易脫除,原料易得又能再生復用,是我國包裝行業面對的又一挑戰。
