單位面積內網點的大小一定,但方向隨機變化。通過網點的疏密反映圖像密度的大小,調頻網點又可分為兩類:一次性調頻網點和二次性調頻網點

②一次性調頻網點。

最初推出的是此類網點,由於不存在網角,且每個網點大小相同只是出現的機會是隨機的,從而避免了龜紋的產生,有利於高保真彩色的復制,但由於網點排列不規則,局部易產生線條和跳棋狀結構,導致局部油墨堆積,為消除此缺陷,後來又研發出二次性調頻網點。

③二次性調頻網點(混合網點)。

是綜合調幅網和調頻網優點於一身的一種加網技術。網點排列規則、半色調結構更加穩定,減少了顆粒、網點擴大和中間調油墨堆積現象。如調幅網點高調處網點易丟失,暗調處網點易擴大導致網點並級,當採用第二次調頻加網技術時,對0-8%和92%-100%網點用調頻網點代替,而中間調區域用調幅加網技術,此種混合加網技術既保證了高調網點不丟,暗調網點不並,同時也確保了中間調層次的較好再現,並有效地避免了莫爾紋的產生。
