無論採用何種工藝方法和材料進行拋光，印刷廠都要求具有優良的拋光質量，以達到預期的目的。從材料上看，影響上光質量的主要因素是印刷紙、油墨和上光適應性好的塗料。
　　無論採用何種工藝方法和材料進行拋光，印刷廠都要求具有優良的拋光質量，以達到預期的目的。從材料上看，影響上光質量的主要因素是印刷紙、油墨和上光適應性好的塗料。


　　1、 印刷紙。紙張的平滑度和錶面吸收率是影響光面塗料性能的重要因素。它們影響塗層的平整度，並在印刷品錶面形成具有高平滑度的亮膜。印刷廠的紙張平整度比較高，紙張錶面與塗層接觸良好，塗層容易流平，從而形成高平整度的薄膜錶面。紙張的錶面吸附性很強。當塗層正常流動時，紙纖維對塗層的吸附速度過快，使塗層流動變差，難以平整。相反，紙張錶面吸附性弱，紙纖維吸附塗層速度太慢，塗膜在找平時不易形成平整度高的薄膜。因此，不同的紙張在印刷廠應選擇配套的塗料，並調整塗料的流平時間、乾燥溫度等工藝條件。


　　2、 油墨。油墨的粒徑影響油墨層的潤濕效果，從而影響塗料的平整度和亮度。如果油墨顆粒較大，印刷品錶面一定要粗糙，不易潮濕，不易平整。


　　3、 把油漆擦亮。玻璃塗層也是影響玻璃質量的主要因素。印刷廠的上光塗料不僅要具有無色、無味、無毒、有光澤、耐化學性和快乾等性能，而且要具有良好的透明度、不易變色、良好的柔韌性、耐熱性、流平性和附著力。而粘度、錶面張力和溶劑揮發度是影響塗層質量的最重要因素。由於揮發、滲透和擴散，塗料中的溶劑會越來越少，粘度會逐漸增加。找平的動力是塗層的錶面張力，它使帶有痕跡的錶面在將塗層收縮到最小形狀的過程中流向光滑的錶面。因此，塗層的錶面張力對平整度有很大的影響。
