紙張的p值用於表示紙張的酸鹼度,通常情況下,印刷紙張的pH值以中性為宜。銅版紙、進口玻璃卡等高檔紙張的pH值則大多在70以上,呈弱鹼性或鹼性,印跡乾燥速度比較快,有利於疊印。

畫冊印刷紙張質量要求14.酸鹼度

紙張的p值用於表示紙張的酸鹼度,通常情況下,印刷紙張的pH值以中性為宜。銅版紙、進口玻璃卡等高檔紙張的pH值則大多在70以上,呈弱鹼性或鹼性,印跡乾燥速度比較快,有利於疊印。

如果紙張的酸性太高,其穩定性和耐久性變差,顏色容易發黃,強度降低,從而影響紙張的品質,而且可能會使某些油墨發生變色,並影響印跡的乾燥性。

值得註意的是,隨著存放時間的延長,紙張的pH值會有所下降。對於需要存檔或是保存使用期限長的出版物,需要使用pH值為中性的紙張,甚至要使用在鹼性環境中生產的不含酸性紙,以避免紙張因年代久遠而造成的變黃等紙質變差的現象,因此有時要在紙張內添加碳酸鈣等物質,使紙張更能抵抗外在的酸性環境。
