書籍畫冊的開本，​紙張是印刷書籍的承印材料,印刷紙以全張為計算單位,全張紙切成多少小張,就叫多少“開”,書籍上稱“開本”。

書籍畫冊的開本，紙張是印刷書籍的承印材料,印刷紙以全張為計算單位,全張紙切成多少小張,就叫多少“開”,書籍上稱“開本”。

所以紙張的開度大小決定書籍的開本大小常用的紙張有兩種規格,
一種是正度紙,規格787×1092毫米,
另一種是大度紙,規格889×1194毫米採用正度紙印的書叫小開本,採用大度紙印的書叫大開本紙張的裁切方式有正規開度、長條開度和特殊開度三種。

什麽是書籍畫冊的開本

未經裁切的紙張叫全張紙,也叫全開紙、一開紙張的規格種類很多,大小不一,但其開數原理則一樣,即把全開紙對折為對開,對開再對折為4開,以此類推便有8開、16開、32開、64開等。還有的將全開紙先平分為三,那就是3開,就有6開、12開、24開48開等。

書的開本就是這樣定的,如用正度紙6開印的書就叫小6開本,用大度紙16開印的書就叫大16開本。

在書籍設計中,開本的確定是十分重要的,因為它直接影響到設計意圖的貫徹。版心、版面的設計,插圖安排和封面構思都必須依據開本的大小而定。

為此,我們可以把開本確定作為書籍整體設計的第一步,只有在此基礎上你的設計意圖才能實現。
